GCA Annual Meeting – Our Annual Meeting will be held on June 9th at 5:30 PM at the Rector House in Atoka. We will have a short business meeting and Nicole Hamilton from Loudoun Wildlife will give a facinating talk about Monarch butterflies (see below). For more information, please contact andrea@goosecreek.org.
The Magic of Monarchs Monarch butterflies make an epic migration each year—a journey that passes right through Loudoun County. With the Monarch population reaching unprecedented lows, this migration is in peril. Monarchs leave the mountains of Mexico in March and head north in a relay of life, sending future generations onward to repopulate the United States and Canada. While they journey north, join us to hear tales from the Monarch sanctuaries, updates on the status of the Monarch population, and predictions on when they’ll reach Virginia. Learn how to plant a Monarch waystation and help Keep the Magic Alive!
