Goose Creek Association Names New Executive Director
Middleburg, VA – May 15, 2025 — Goose Creek Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Alyson Borowczyk as its new Executive Director. Alyson has served as the organization’s Administrative Director for the past year, during which time she has helped expand environmental education programs, strengthen partnerships, and professionalize operations—all in service of protecting and preserving the Goose Creek watershed.
Borowczyk brings a rare combination of environmental passion, educational expertise, and nonprofit leadership to the role. A trained historian and former museum curator and educator, she holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in History. She began her career developing exhibits, writing grants, and designing public programming that brought local stories to life—skills she now channels into her work with area schools and community groups through the Association’s outreach and education initiatives. Her love for engaging students and the public in meaningful, place-based learning experiences is a driving force behind the organization’s expanding watershed education efforts.
A passionate birder and advocate for environmental stewardship, Borowczyk is also deeply interested in the history of Goose Creek and the vital role it has played in shaping the region’s natural and cultural heritage. She sees conservation as both a forward-looking responsibility and a way to honor the past.
“It is truly an honor to step into this role and serve an organization I deeply respect,” said Borowczyk. “I’m grateful for the mentorship and guidance of our tremendous board of directors, whose dedication to conservation inspires me daily. I look forward to continuing to grow our impact together—for the health of Goose Creek, and for future generations who will depend on it.”
A seasoned marketing and development professional, Borowczyk has previously helped secure millions in charitable contributions, developed successful grassroots campaigns, and led strategic initiatives in both nonprofit and private sectors. Prior to joining Goose Creek Association, she served as Director of Donor Relationships for The Station of the Cross Catholic Media Network and as CEO and Creative Director of OMNIA Design + Social, an agency she founded.
“Alyson started with Goose Creek Association last year right in the middle of our busiest time of year and very quickly got us organized and operating more efficiently,” said Ted Lewis, Board Chair. “I’m very confident she is going to help Goose Creek Association grow and continue to be an advocate for Goose Creek for years to come.”
As Executive Director, Borowczyk will oversee program development, daily operations, fundraising, communications, and stakeholder engagement. She will continue to advance Goose Creek Association’s mission to safeguard the ecological health and scenic beauty of the Goose Creek watershed for generations to come.
